Opportunities for Involvement
Stephen Ministry is a specialized ministry which equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one to one care to those who are experiencing various life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and community.
Service Areas include Quilters, Lutheran Thrift Shop, Pan de Vida Lutheran Church Tutoring, Adopt A Family, and Westside Food Bank.
Small Group Ministries offer opportunities for fellowship, support, and education: Koinonia Groups, Family Issues Support Group, Stress Management Group, Cancer Support Group, Writer's Group, Grief Support Group, Friendship Groups, Dinner for Six.
Educational Opportunities provide classes and discussion groups covering Biblical study and current issues: Eye Opener Bible Study, Sunday School, Life Long Learning, Theological Conversations, Book Discussion Group.
Our inviting Library contains books, audio, and video tapes, and a network link.
Men's and Women's Ministries include Men's Group and Women of the ELCA (WELCA).
Organized Recreational Activities include golf, bowling, game nights, and theme dinners.
Choirs enhance our worship experience through the gift of music: Chancel, Celebration, Visitation, Liturgical, and Bell Choirs.
Care Ministry includes the Prayer Chain, Friendly Visitors, delivery of worship audiotapes, and workshops/classes on various health and wellness issues.
Ministry Provided
Through our Pastors, Stephen Ministers, and Parish Nurse (a registered nurse who serves as a health educator, advocate, and referral source), care and support are offered at times of need, illness, or crisis.
