Return to topSummer Is Picnic Time!
It’s too hot to be outdoors so we will have an Indoor Picnic on Saturday night, June 28, immediately following the 5 p.m. worship service — approximately 6:15 p.m. There will be entertainment, picnic food, and fun fellowship. The cost is $7 and reservations can be made in the church office or around services on the weekends before. This is a great opportunity to “break bread together”!Memorial Day
Service of Remembrance
There will be a brief service of remembrance in the Columbarium immediately after each worship service on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25. We will honor the people who have enriched our lives by their presence and are no longer with us as well as those who have died in service to our country. We give thanks for their lives and rejoice that they now rest in the care of our God.

Why Is Fair Trade Coffee Special?
Fair trade coffee comes from farmers in developing countries who are certified because of the way they care for the land and the people who help work it. When you buy Fair Trade coffee, you help the rainforests and over 600,000 coffee producers in 32 countries. Fair Trade coffee is available at Lord of Life at cost through Lutheran World Relief on the last weekend of each month. You drink it at all events in the Social Hall. A special thank you for this special way you help these farmers in third world countries.
Mother’s Day Brunch
A Tribute to Mothers

Thrift Shop
Volunteer Opportunity
As our desert summer heats up and more folks head north to cooler climes, the Thrift Shop feels the pinch since we depend on a volunteer staff to keep our doors open. Even though many volunteers do double duty during the summer months, we still need extra helping hands. If you would like to join us, we are located on the southwest corner of 107th and Peoria Avenues in Sun City. We are open six days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons have the greatest need, but any day that you have four hours to spare would be most appreciated. We have a Volunteer Orientation the first Friday of the month at noon. If you like garage sales, antique malls or great deals, you will enjoy spending a few hours at the store. Stop by and check us out! Return to top
Please join us! Listen to Worship on the Web. A copy of the worship service is
available on the Lord of Life website (www.lordoflife-scw.org). Just click
on “About our Church” and select “Listen to services and concerts.”

Dates to Watch For
October 15 Thank Offering Service/luncheon
October 17,18,19 Prescott-- Cactus Conference
December 4 Lord of Life Christmas Dinner Party
Memorial ReceptionsMemorial receptions are a service provided by WELCA and circles are asked to assist. Margaret Johnson has graciously accepted the responsibiltiy of chairperson for the receptions. This is such an important function of WELCA and we want it to be very special to family members.
Circles are asked to set up for the reception as well as provide bars and cookies and clean up when it is over. Sometimes the family wishes for additional food which is ordered. The circle members are responsible for serving the reception.
Margaret will work with circles and oversee the reception. Circles are called on a rotation basis. Please let Margaret know in advance if your circle needs additional help. Some circles are small in number and may need more workers. Thanks to Margaret and circle members for their dedication and help in making the receptions a comforting time for the family.
Least Coin Offering
There is a question as to when the Least Coin Offering should be turned into the treasurer. While this can be turned in any time during the year, we would like to have it collected at each meeting during the year and turned in after the April meeting.
The Least Coin Offering is an offering received by women’s groups around the world and many of our circles participate in this worthy cause. Each woman if asked to give the smallest — or LEAST — coin of her country, thus every woman can easily participate in this offering which is used to meet various needs around the world.
Please convert the coins to currency or a check and turn it in with your April circle report.
