People are friendly, full of fun, and are saving a chair for you! Rehearsals, whether you are a returnee (and we hope you are returning) or a new member...
Celebration Choir Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel; sings Saturday night or Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
Handbells Thursdays, 12:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 1; usually plays the third Sunday of each month.
Liturgical Choir Thursdays, 2 p.m. the first two Thursdays in the Chapel.
Chancel Choir Thursdays, 3 p.m. in the Chapel; usually sings at 10:30 a.m., except the second Sunday sings at 8:30 a.m.I can hardly wait for all our choirs to get into full swing. I've been studying all kinds of music and there are so many terrific pieces waiting for us to sing or play. Be watching for the location of rehearsals ... either the choir room or the sanctuary! This
choir of over forty members rehearses on Thursday at 3:00 PM in the Choir Room
in the Social Hall. This group performs all types of music from the more difficult
Bach Chorales and Handel Oratorios to contemporary religious music. They sing
at either the 8:30 or 10:30 service and sometimes at both. In addition, they
provide special music for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Lent and Easter.

The handbell choir ranges from nine to twelve members who are able to read the musical score. The group plays the three octaves of handbells which have been purchased with memorial donations. The choir provides music for worship services about once a month, and rehearses to be announced. Rehearsal Thursday at 12:30 PM.

This choir, which numbers over twenty, provides the special music for the
Saturday Services at 5:00 p.m. twice a month and for two of the Sunday Services
as well. They sing a variety of contemporary and traditional music styles.
Their rehearsal is 3:30 PM on Wednesday in the Chapel. Return

This group is made up from members of the congregation who meet in the choir room every other Thursday at 10:00 a.m. to carpool to local nursing homes, and sing for and with the residents. Song sheets are provided for this valuable community outreach ministry.

10:30 a.m. Chancel Choir Return to topA big thank you to all of you for your participation, help in housing, help on committees, etc. when we hosted the Valparaiso University Chorale in March. It was a wonderful and thrilling concert and thank you to each of you. Even though the church wasn’t full, we were the largest audience they had on their tour. The Chorale rewarded us with excellent singing, youthful vibrance, and a musical experience of beauty. Thank you for all your help.
We would also be amiss if we did not thank you for the variety of help and participation in the Living Liturgy Conference in February. It took a large number of willing hands to make the event fly. Our guests greatly appreciated our efforts and commented on many things, including our beautiful campus, helpful and wonderful people always seeking to help. If you took in some of the Thursday through Saturday events, you are probably still trying to digest the many things which were presented. Return to top
The Cactus Trio will present a concert here on Sunday afternoon, April 13, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. The Trio is from Desert Palms Presbyterian Church here in Sun City West. We will hear John Huston on clarinet, Mary Jo Rodriguez on piano, and Monica Carter as soprano. Come and hear this delightful concert. Freewill offering.
A recital, including many members of Lord of Life plus other students of Dave Lien in voice and piano, will be held on Sunday, April 27, 3 p.m. in the Chapel. They will perform a variety of Broadway, popular, and classical pieces. This is free to the public.
On May 11, 3 p.m., the Campinellas del Sol, a handbell group directed by Roy Bloomquist, will perform. The group will travel to Europe in June.
